Shot...

Well it's all over, the polar bear has been shot in NE Iceland this afternoon. it's not possible to have a bear roaming around in Iceland, with the chance of human loss...

Polar bear in Iceland again...

Today a polar bear came to Iceland again. in 2008, 2 or 3 came to the northern part of Iceland and now we have a small one in the nnorth eastern part of iceland. most likely it will be shot so that it will not kill any people...
the funny thing is that last time, it was no crisis on iceland and a lot of people wanted to spend a lot of money saving the animals, but now that we are in the middle of a crisis it is not certain that people are willing to spend the same amount of money;0)

Boston

Today Anna and i ordered plane tickets to Boston, USA

we will be there from February 25th to March 1st. i look forward seeing Boston and its surroundings and probably do a bit of shopping to...

the price was actually quite cheap, the same as to fly to Oslo and i have newer been to Boston, so it will be nice;0)

bad weather in Iceland...

Everyone has the impression that Iceland has bad weather! that's not true! in 2009 Reykjavik had 713 mm of precipitation down 10% from mean and sunny hours were 1490 up 200 from mean.
Oslo which is a nice city had 783 mm of precipitation and 1700 sunny hours.
the big difference between Oslo and Reykjavik is that the temperature is lower in the winter in Oslo and that more precipitation falls as snow than rain in Oslo.
CONCLUSION is that Iceland is good;0)

this is a beach in Reykjavik this summer, so come on up to Iceland...

This afternoon i landed in Keflavik, Iceland.
i got stopped in customs, but was let away without paying (lucky) and went to my cousin Sunneva who had a birthday party with tens' of cakes, so i don't need dinner tonight...
the weather is rain and +2 degrees, but it's alright, because tomorrow i will jump into the heitapottur;0)

now its back to reality, school, school, and big jeeps...

it has been long days with many presentations, so maybe my brain is soon to be overloaded;0)

christmas in norway

first of all merry christmas and a happy new year to all of you from all of me...
the weather has been excellent in norway, loads of snow and temperature between -10 and -20, a real winter wonder land;0)

i started the first day of the new year by being ill again! first it looked like the svineflue, but today it looks more like something normal. :0)
if i feel well tomorrow we will drive up to my cottage in the mountains and stay there for some days, skiing, relaxing and working on my master thesis...
